We have received a very nice letter from the daughter of recently hospitalized FRPD Sgt. Bryan Courtney.
Ladies and gentlemen:
I am proud to say that my dad is a police officer. My dad is a K-9 Sergeant and his name is Bryan Courtney. He was the one who was attacked by Clyde Burrell. On the night of July 28th, when my mom, Cindy, came back from the Emergency Room after she had seen my dad, my mom asked me, “Do you want to see your dad?” I said, “Yeah,” and me and Mom rode with Captain Clint Keller to the Warren Memorial Hospital. So, I was there to see him that night, and now I look at Dad and think, ‘wow, he’s made an amazing recovery!’ For those of you who are concerned about my dad, he is OK, except his right thumb still is purple, his shoulder hurts, and his right eye is still bloody. Luckily Dad’s corneal abrasion has healed for the most part, and the stitches that were in his head were taken out on August 3rd, 2012. I thank the vacationers from Kentucky and citizens nearby that came to my dad’s rescue. I also thank the nice gentleman who wrote to you guys and whose letter was published. His name is Paul Jaffe. Paul, thank you for the nice comments about my dad. Dad thought it was very nice, too. Please publish this letter, because I want people to know what I wrote.
THANK YOU
Madison Courtney, age 11
