Local wild fire grows to 623 acres, 5% contained

As the temperature in Bentonville, Va. hovers around 100 °F this afternoon, a fire on Massanutten Mountain between Veach Gap and Sherman Gap has nearly doubled in size to 623 acres and is 5% contained. The chance of precipitation for the next few days is 30%.
